2014 Exhibitions
The initial marks on my canvas are the beginning of a story based on a memory of a place or a time in my life. Vermont is my home and its pastoral beauty has romanced me since I was a young child. The hills and valleys, farms and fields are often where my stories begin. As my imaginings flow, the compositional and color relationships are mine to unfold. It is freeing to be the inventor of what is true in my work. It is both the play and the challenge that draws me to the studio each day.
As this body of work has evolved, there have been some surprises along the way. I have been exploring some new directions and have allowed the paintings to take me there.
